FC Zürich appointed Claudio Cisullo to the board of directors on Thursday. The 61-year-old entrepreneur takes on the role of Lead Independent Director. On Friday afternoon, FCZ President Ancillo Canepa and the new strong man Cisullo announced further important decisions for the club's sporting future. Among other things, the FC Zürich team now has a six-member advisory board chaired by Cisullo - and it has some big names. Roberto Donadoni and Roberto Di Matteo are also on the advisory board. Donadoni won several championships and the Champions League as a midfielder with AC Milan. Di Matteo conquered the football world from Schaffhausen and won the Champions League in 2012 as Chelsea's coach. The advisory board is also intended to establish and promote partnerships. The other members are entrepreneur Samuel Widmann, banker Björn Wäspe, and communications expert Peter Marti. Cisullo is also to be involved in the club's future planning. Ancillo and Heliane Canepa have been at the helm of FCZ for almost twenty years and already want to plan a smooth transition. The new board member Cisullo has been working with the Canepa couple almost daily for nearly two months. The experienced entrepreneur is also supposed to help make the 13-time Swiss champion successful again. However, he will not interfere with transfers. The sporting aspect is not his thing, and his task will be to organize the money. It is also not planned that he will become a shareholder of FCZ. For Cisullo, FC Zürich is a well-organized club with great potential. The FCZ has always been an institution and still is today. It honors me that I can contribute to what FCZ is. FC Zürich wants to be successful again and has therefore set up the new board of directors and advisory board. The FC Zürich team hopes that the new constellation will help them return to the top.
